I was also thinking that since most of the links they post are to the same site, would it be possible to just block that site from being added as a link? That wouldn't stop the posts, but it'd stop the links. Or maybe blocks posts containing that URL? --DementedSnake

The sheer amount of it recently is doing my nut in slightly. Nice to know it's appreciated, thanks guys! I've asked on IRC for http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:ConfirmEdit to be installed - hope that's the right approach.
