Talk:Development/Infrastructure

What in the current infrastructure is working well and what isnt? Should something be done about it? As everyone know, migrating is seldom trivial and always takes time. Time that may very well be better spent on other things, particulary development.

My opinion is that repos and website is working very well, but that I'm very open to looking at a more integrated way as far as mailinglist, forum, issue-tracker and wiki goes. I do not, however think that we "need" to do anything. Its just one of those things that would be "nice". Jonnor 22:43, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

As a new user, I have to agree, the website is very nicely laid out, and everything seems easily accessible. I especially like the touch of adding links to similar (some might say competing) projects. Very courteous! --Naught101 12:23, 27 October 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for that comment, made my day that someone bothered to mention this :-) I did not have that idea myself but saw it at some other project (not related to graphics). --maxy 22:41, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
If we will ever plan to change wiki/issuetracker I propose trac. I have a lot of experience with it and I know people that have even more experience. It is a great piece of software (and yes ... it is written in Python :) ) --Lukacu 15:06, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
Trac works nicely with SVN, but I would expect that GIT integration is bleeding edge. --maxy 22:41, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
Well I stated that it is a suggestion for long-term plans. I am a bit skeptical about GIT support for trac myself ... but it is just meant for repository browsing ... nothing crucial for the development process --Lukacu 00:34, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
